The appliance plug IEC 60320 C14 has a max. operation temp. of 70�C




General Information

Appliance connectors according to IEC 60320 for household and similar general purposes is a series of standards from the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) specifying non-locking connectors for connecting power supply cords to electrical appliances.

The first edition of IEC 60320 was published in 1970 unter IEC 320.

Various shapes of connector with different sizes are specified for different combinations of temperature, current, and grounding requirements.

The maximum rated voltage for these devices is 250V ac and the maximum rated current must not exceeding 10A, or 2.5A (C7 and C5).

Users must ensure that voltage rating of the equipment is compatible with the mains supply.

The appliance plug adapter series IEC 60320 C14 is used to connect devices that do not generate any heat during operation (cold ambient conditions).

The maximum operating temperature must not exceed 70�C and the maximum current flow is rated at 10 Amp.

The appliance plugs C14 do not fit into appliance sockets for warm or hot ambient conditions.
