Panel Mounting Socket BS 546
- BS 546 is an old British Standard for domestic AC power plugs and sockets.
- Round pin plugs and sockets are no longer used in Britain for general appliances, but used for more specialist applications mainly for stage lighting in the United Kingdom.
- The model 15APS is a compatible replacement for most types of round 15A sockets and also used in countries such as India or South Africa etc.
- This socket is moulded in heat resistant thermosetting material and has safety shutters to cover the live and neutral terminals when not in use.
- Designed to accept 15A round (3) pin plugs it conform fully to British Standard BS546 and is a fully compatible replacement for earlier versions.

- This panel mounting socket can be used for mounting into the user′s own purpose-made panels, trunking, etc. Recommended maximum panel thickness 2.5 mm.
- In order to be compliant with relevant standards, this socket must be fitted to a faceplate or panel giving the required surrounding flat area around the socket outlets.
