SPECIFICATIONS

•	Socket Outlets – Available with three to ten outlets – Unswitched or switched versions – Standard Length: 1 m (nominal) (3 m available on special order)

•	Extension Cords available on special order only. (Standard Length: 1 m to 50 m)

These multiple socket outlets configuration, defined in SI 32, is unique to Israel and is incompatible with all other sockets. It has three flat pins to form a Y-shape. "Live" and "Neutral" are spaced 19 mm apart.

The Israeli plug is rated at 16A but in practice the inadequate flat pins cause it to overheat when connecting large appliances. Latest definition in the SI 32 specify the use of three round 4 mm pins in the same locations as the older standard.

Sockets are manufactured to accept both flat and round pins in order to be compatible with both old and new plugs. Also the Israeli socket allows to accommodate EURO-Plugs plugs which are used in Israel for non grounded appliances.

The israelian socket configuration is also used in the areas controlled by the Palestinian National Authority in the West Bank and all of the Gaza Strip.
